Letter: Valuntas Thanks RPB Residents

I would like to thank the citizens of Royal Palm Beach for allowing me to represent them on the Royal Palm Beach Village Council. I was recently re-elected without opposition, and I will continue serving the people to the best of my ability. I learned a lot during my first two years in office, and I will use that knowledge to help address the challenges facing our community.

Although the current economic conditions are far from ideal, the citizens of Royal Palm Beach have a lot to look forward to. For example, the Aldi supermarket chain is constructing a distribution center in our village. The arrival of Aldi will create many new jobs and help spawn other economic opportunities in our community. In addition, the crown jewel of our parks and recreation system, Royal Palm Beach Commons Park, is scheduled to be open for our Independence Day celebration. This new park is a tremendous asset for our citizens, and I believe it will be treasured for generations to come.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve as a councilman. I have seen first-hand how the hard work, dedication and professionalism of our village employees helps make Royal Palm Beach such a wonderful place to live, work and play. However, it is the citizens who make our village really great. In an effort to make our village even better, I encourage everyone to become more involved with the issues facing our local government. I believe that increased citizen participation will help strengthen the governmental process, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Richard Valuntas, Vice Mayor, Royal Palm Beach
