Equipment Stolen From RPB’s Field Operations Office

MAY 11 — A deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office substation in Royal Palm Beach was dispatched to the RPB’s Field Operations office on Okeechobee Blvd. last Friday morning regarding a burglary. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 4:30 p.m. last Thursday and 7 a.m. the following morning, someone cut the locks on three separate trailers and stole several pieces of lawn equipment. Additionally, the perpetrator(s) broke into more than 18 containers located on the property. According to the report, the deputy believes entry was made through the gate at Willows Park, as the chain was cut and the gate was forced open. The deputy discovered tire tread marks and boot marks at the site. DNA evidence was taken at the scene, but there were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.

MAY 10 — A resident of Palm Beach Polo & Country Club contacted the PBSO substation in Wellington last Thursday regarding a suspicious incident. According to a PBSO report, the victim noticed her watch was missing and, upon searching for it, discovered that several other pieces of jewelry were also missing. The victim said she believed that someone may have taken it last Tuesday, because she found an earring on the floor in her bedroom. According to the report, there was no sign of forced entry, but a sliding glass door was unlocked. The stolen items were valued at approximately $2,500. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.

MAY 10 — A Wellington woman was arrested early last Thursday morning on charges of battery following an altercation at a restaurant near the Mall at Wellington Green. According to a PBSO report, the victim called the PBSO substation in Wellington after 21-year-old Anamique Pollock struck her. According to the report, Pollock was drunk and attempted to start a fight with the victim. The victim said that Pollock began yelling at her, spit in her face and then grabbed a chunk of her hair and hit her in the face. According to the report, an employee of the restaurant witnessed the event and told the deputy that Pollock was the aggressor. Pollock was arrested and issued a notice to appear in court on a charge of simple battery.

MAY 11 — A resident of 63rd Court North called the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation last Friday afternoon to report a theft. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 4 p.m. last Thursday and 3:30 p.m. the following afternoon, someone stole two 50-foot power cords from her driveway. The victim said that they were connected to an RV in her driveway. The stolen power cords were valued at approximately $239. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.

MAY 13 — A West Palm Beach man was arrested early last Sunday morning on drug charges following a suspicious vehicle incident outside a business on Fox Trail Road. According to a PBSO report, a deputy from the Royal Palm Beach substation was on patrol in the area at approximately 2:41 a.m. when he observed a silver Honda parked outside the closed business. The deputy made contact with the driver, 23-year-old Ryan Scherl, who said he was doing work at the business. According to the report, the deputy could smell an unknown alcoholic beverage coming from him. The deputy asked Scherl if he had any weapons with him, and Scherl said that he did. According to the report, the deputy recovered a loaded .357 Taurus revolver from under a bag on the passenger seat. According to the report, the deputy also observed a small amount of marijuana residue on the driver’s-side floorboard. A search of the vehicle revealed five marijuana cigarettes and additional loose marijuana in Scherl’s bag, totaling approximately 22 grams. Scherl was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana over 20 grams and possession and transportation of drug paraphernalia.

MAY 13 — A resident of Coconut Blvd. called the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation last Tuesday morning to report a theft. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 7 p.m. last Saturday and 7 a.m. the following morning, someone removed the victim’s 29” Schwinn bicycle from outside his home near the garage. The stolen bicycle was valued at approximately $150. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.

MAY 13 — A Royal Palm Beach man was attacked last Sunday morning in the Crestwood Square plaza by an unknown black man. According to a PBSO report, a deputy from the Royal Palm Beach substation was called to the scene after the suspect threw a socket from a wrench through the victim’s window causing damage. The victim said the suspect threatened his life and then fled in a vehicle. According to the report, the victim and a witness were able to track down the vehicle, but no contact was made with the suspect. There was no further information available at the time of the report.

MAY 15 — A Riviera Beach man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on shoplifting charges after he was caught removing items from several stores in the Mall at Wellington Green. According to a PBSO report, a loss prevention officer stopped 24-year-old James Morrell and recovered several stolen items. According to the report, Morrell stole approximately $50 in shoes from Aldo, $38 in fragrance from Hollister and six makeup bags totaling $82 from American Apparel. Morrell was arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, where he was charged with petty theft.

MAY 15 — A resident of the Shoma Homes community contacted the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach on Tuesday night to report a burglary. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., someone entered her house and stole several items including a television, an Xbox 360 and an iPad. According to the report, the victim’s son said that he was the last person to leave the home that morning and forgot to lock the door. The stolen items were valued at approximately $1,500. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
