Dreams Come True Dancers Perform June 16

The Dreams Come True Dancers will perform Saturday, June 16 at 6 p.m. in the Palm Beach Central High School auditorium.

For the past five months, these students with disabilities have been working hard on their routine titled Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The group performs each year in the Very Special Arts annual holiday showcase at Palm Beach State College’s Duncan Theatre. They will participate in the recital, along with many other dancers with various disabilities from Donna Tucci’s School of Dance in Royal Palm Beach.

Tucci, a licensed physical therapist assistant and former professional dancer, runs the class with several volunteer students from her school. Tucci is committed to the children’s needs, both physically and as a recreational tool for them socially.

Tucci’s contributions were recognized in 1995 when the Village of Royal Palm Beach presented her the annual Child Enrichment Award. Miss America 1995 Heather Whitestone and former Florida Secretary of State Sandra Mortham also sent letters of recognition in honor of Tucci’s efforts. Tucci was also featured in the February 1999 issue of Dance Teacher magazine and on WPTV NewChannel 5’s segment “Kelly’s Heroes.”

The June 16 performance of Glee will be a tribute to Tucci’s student Susan Neyman.
