In Pictures: Tornado Damage In Western Wellington

At Rider Ranch, what remained of the roof collapsed into the kitchen.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, a powerful tornado touched down in western Wellington, sweeping northeast into the Acreage/Loxahatchee area. A press conference was held Friday, Oct. 11 in the rural Wellington enclave of Rustic Ranches off Flying Cow Road, where the tornado first touched ground, in order to bring awareness to the devastation these communities faced. Cleanup is on-going and many people in the area have no power, or their homes are a total loss. The photos shown here are from Rustic Ranches and other parts of Western Wellington.
