The Village of Wellington invites the community to the opening of its new, state-of-the-art Wellington Aquatics Center on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and free community grand opening celebration.
Located at 3410 120th Avenue South at the southwestern part of Village Park, the event will feature interactive games, aquatic exhibitions and family-friendly activities for all ages. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Wellington Village Council will take place at 8 a.m., followed by the grand opening celebration from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The celebration includes free admission all day, exhibitions by Wellington’s dive and water polo teams, music and interactive games, a NinjaCross demonstration, water aerobics sample classes, and water safety and rescue demonstrations with Wellington lifeguards.
Guests will receive a free food ticket for the concession stand (one per person, valid from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and a free raffle ticket for a chance to win swim passes and lessons (one per person; must be present to claim prizes).
Designed with families in mind, the Wellington Aquatics Center offers something for all ages, whether you’re looking to compete, exercise, learn to swim, or simply cool off and enjoy time together.
The all-new facility features a dual-pool layout, with a competition pool on one side and a recreation pool on the other, allowing competitive and recreational activities to take place simultaneously.
The 64-meter competition pool features 28 25-yard lanes and a movable bulkhead, providing flexible configurations for Olympic 50-meter competitions, swim and dive meets, water polo, synchronized swimming and more.
The recreation side features exciting new amenities, including a zero-depth-entry pool with a play structure, Florida’s first NinjaCross retractable obstacle course, lounge chairs and cabanas.
A central building houses concession stands serving each side of the facility, locker rooms, restrooms and changing areas, a multi-purpose room and administrative offices.
