Meier, Levin Claim Wellington Council Seats; Samios Narrowly Wins In RPB

According to preliminary results released by the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office after the polls closed on Tuesday, March 10, Wellington candidates Johnny Meier and Stephen Levin have won seats on the Wellington Village Council.

In the Village of Royal Palm Veach, former Councilwoman Selena Samios appears to have made a comeback, narrowly unseating incumbent Adam Miller. Meanwhile, in the Town of Loxahatchee Groves, Joe Stephens and Manish Sood will join the dais.

This is a breaking news alert. Full election stories will be available in the next edition of the Town-Crier.

Both races in Wellington appear to have avoided runoff elections.

In the Seat 2 race, candidate Johnny Meier finished well ahead of candidates Tatiana Yaques and Elizabeth Pandich. Meier took 2,479 votes (47.34 percent), while Yaques was second with 1,890 votes (36.09 percent). Pandich was third with 868 votes (16.57 percent).

The election margin in Royal Palm Beach was razor thin, with former Councilwoman Selena Samios taking 1,173 votes (50.93 percent), narrowly unseating incumbent Adam Miller in the Group 1 race. Miller took 1,130 votes (49.07 percent).

In the race for Seat 1 on the Loxahatchee Groves Town Council, Joe Stephens was the top vote-getter, taking 212 votes (45.40 percent). He outperformed Robert Sullivan with 191 votes (40.90 percent) and Steven Hoffman with 64 votes (13.70 percent).

In the race for Seat 5, challenger Manish Sood easily defeated Councilman Todd McLendon. Sood took 322 votes (68.08 percent) to McLendon’s 151 votes (31.92 percent).
