Binks Forest Elementary School is proud of a remarkable achievement in this year’s Battle of the Books competition. The team Da Boyz, under the direction of Media Specialist Caroline Epstein, advanced to the Grand Battle of the Books held on March 10.

Each year, students participating in Battle of the Books read a selected list of 15 state-designated titles and compete by answering detailed questions based on those books. Representing Binks Forest were fifth-grade students Lucas Prestia, Joshua Witherill, Easton Carlson, Emmerich Gobin and Max Tobin.

During the district competition, the team achieved an outstanding score of 170 points, ranking first out of 521 elementary teams across the Palm Beach County School District in grades 3 to 5.

Their exceptional performance earned them an invitation to the Grand Battle, hosted at the Palm Beach County School District’s Network in Education studio, where the top two teams competed in a game show-style championship round.

Binks Forest proudly secured second place overall, finishing just behind the first-place team, Always Winners, from Timber Trace Elementary School, led by Shannon Culp.
