The community is invited to the fourth annual Unified Veterans Disc Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 30 at Royal Palm Beach Commons Park. Attendees can enjoy cash prizes, contests, raffle items, food and military honors. Non-participants are welcome to attend the ceremony and barbecue by registering as a spectator for $10. Come out to compete, remember and celebrate.
Food will be served at noon with the ceremony beginning at 12:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place on the Great Lawn near the stage. The park is located at 11600 Poinciana Blvd. in Royal Palm Beach.
Centering around its mission of “helping veterans navigate the obstacles of reintegration,” Unified Dream is a veteran-run not-for-profit corporation that provides the resources to guide veterans on the road to recovery and get reconnected with their community. They also assist other community programs with veteran teams.
Unified Dream also organizes outings, such as fishing, hiking, kayaking, cookouts and more. Veterans are provided with a “battle buddy” friend, mentor and accountability buddy. They also provide veterans the chance to tell their story on film. Sharing their journey inspires others and educates the community.
