On Monday, June 1, officials from the Indian Trail Improvement District and the South Florida Water Management District cut the ribbon on the reconstructed J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area levee. The levee borders the south side of the Corbett area, just north of 94th Street North in The Acreage. Nearly 14 years after the berm failed during Tropical Storm Isaac, the levee has been reconstructed before the 2026 hurricane season to offer better flooding protection for residents of The Acreage. The restoration process came from the combined efforts of ITID and SFWMD, along with support from Palm Beach County, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the State of Florida.
