On Saturday, July 4, the Village of Wellington held a special Fourth of July Celebration at Village Park to mark the 250th birthday of United States. While Mother Nature tried to test attendees, most stayed, and the storm blew by, allowing for a fantastic fireworks display to cap the evening. The celebration also included food trucks, bounce houses, a petting zoo, bingo, face painting, virtual reality games and live music. On stage, the band Only in America performed country music songs, and the trio Tribute to the Troops performed songs from the World War II era.
