More than 150 teachers from schools throughout the community were treated to a well-deserved afternoon of appreciation during “Thanks A Latte,” a special Teacher Appreciation Event hosted by the Mall at Wellington Green on Friday, July 31.
The event brought together educators, community organizations and local businesses for an afternoon celebrating the individuals who dedicate their lives to educating the next generation.
“Teachers pour so much into our children and our community, and this event gives us the chance to pour a little gratitude back into them,” said Asad Sadiq, general manager of the Mall at Wellington Green. “We’re proud to partner with the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, the Wellington Community Foundation and our incredibly supportive tenants to celebrate these remarkable educators.”
Teachers enjoyed refreshments, giveaways and special offers from participating vendors, while connecting with fellow educators before the start of the new school year. A spectacular fashion show featured Wellington’s own educators highlighting the latest in fashion choices available at the mall.
The mall partnered with the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, the Wellington Community Foundation and Office Depot to make the event possible, demonstrating how collaboration between the business and nonprofit communities can create meaningful opportunities to recognize local educators.
“We are honored to support events that celebrate the teachers who make such a tremendous difference in our community,” said Dawn Rivera, executive director of the Wellington Community Foundation. “The Mall at Wellington Green created a wonderful event that allowed local organizations and businesses to come together and simply say, ‘Thank you.’”
The success of “Thanks A Latte” demonstrates that when the community comes together to celebrate its educators, everyone benefits — especially the students whose lives are shaped by dedicated teachers every day.
