The Florida League of Cities (FLC), the united voice for Florida’s municipal governments, recently announced the election of its officers for the 2026-27 term.
Mark Franks, mayor of the Town of Shalimar, was elected president of the league by FLC membership and will serve a one-year term.
“It’s an honor to serve as president of the Florida League of Cities,” Franks said upon his installation. “As mayor of a small town, I understand that every city has its own unique opportunities, challenges and story to tell. Local leaders are closest to the people they serve, and I look forward to working alongside city officials from every corner of Florida as we strengthen our communities and ensure that local voices remain at the heart of local decisions.”
Joining Franks is an impressive list of Florida leaders serving as officers, including Florida League of Cities First Vice President Sarah Stoeckel, a councilwoman in the City of Titusville, and Second Vice President Greg Langowski, vice mayor of the City of Westlake.
Langowski joined the Westlake City Council in 2022 and has served as vice mayor ever since. His current term expires in 2030. His leadership and advocacy has earned him numerous honors, including the Florida League of Cities’ Home Rule Hero Award and Gold Certificate of Excellence.
Founded in 1922, the Florida League of Cities is the united voice for Florida’s municipal governments. Its goals are to promote local self-government and serve the needs of Florida’s municipalities, which are formed and governed by their citizens.
