Longtime Palm Beach County resident and current Wellington resident Brooke Bogatz is one of the latest coaching hires at the Wellington Sports Academy (WSA).
In late August, Bogatz agreed to be the WSA’s varsity head coach for the women’s basketball program. She will also serve as the assistant coach for Anthony McCutcheon, who is the head coach for the WSA’s national women’s basketball team.
Bogatz has a long history of playing basketball in Palm Beach County and throughout South Florida. In addition to playing varsity basketball at Park Vista High School, where she graduated from in 2020, she also played for the Wellington Wolves, which are also based at Village Park in Wellington.
After high school, Bogatz enrolled at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens. She played four years of college basketball for St. Thomas as a guard, which plays within the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). When she graduated from St. Thomas University in 2025, she earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in sports administration.
During her time at the WSA, Bogatz will play a major role in the women’s basketball program. She will oversee daily practice sessions, daily skill development and weight training. She will also provide individual tutorial sessions on key guard skills, such as dribbling, driving, passing and shooting.
Bogatz has experience coaching both boys and girls basketball. Her most recent coaching assignment was with Perseverance Basketball, which is based in Riviera Beach.
