Wellington Town Center has been named one of only four statewide finalists for the 2026 Great Places in Florida People’s Choice Award, presented by the Florida chapter of the American Planning Association.
Now, Wellington needs the community’s help to bring the award home. Public voting is open through Sept. 30, and residents, visitors, businesses, community partners and everyone who loves Wellington are encouraged to cast their vote for Wellington Town Center. Residents can vote online by visiting www.wellingtonfl.gov/greatplaces.
Once at the page, select Wellington Town Center and cast your vote. Then, help spread the word by sharing the voting link with friends, family, neighbors and colleagues.
Wellington Town Center serves as a true community gathering place and is home to the Wellington Amphitheater, Scott’s Place Playground, the Wellington Community Center, the Wellington Patriot Memorial, green spaces, walking areas, community events, ceremonies, concerts, celebrations and countless opportunities for residents to connect.
The 2026 Great Places in Florida theme, “Great People-Focused Places,” recognizes spaces designed around the people who use them and that create opportunities to gather, explore, connect and build a sense of belonging.
The nomination also gives Wellington an opportunity to repeat history. In 2023, the Wellington Environmental Preserve at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Everglades Habitat was selected as the Great Places in Florida People’s Choice Award winner.
