Golden Grove Tops In Registered Summer Readers

Golden Grove Elementary School has announced that it had the highest percent of its school population registered for the Summer Reading Program.

Each year the Palm Beach County Library System keeps track of the schools attended by the children who sign up for the Summer Reading Program. The school with the highest percentage of their student population enrolled in the reading program gets a special program in November that is paid for by the Palm Beach County Library System.

Golden Grove will have a special visit on the morning of Friday, Nov. 2 by this year’s author of the book chosen as our 2012 Families Reading Together book, Artful Reading by Bob Raczka.

November marks the Palm Beach County Library System’s ninth Families Reading Together Campaign. This event serves to remind the community of the importance of sharing books with children and encouraging them to read on their own.

This project is made possible by community partners, including the Palm Beach County School District. Golden Grove will be receiving special bookmarks and other materials from school media services for this campaign.

Golden Grove is proud that so many of its students registered for the Summer Reading Program and enjoyed the love of reading over the summer. They are looking forward to their special visit.
