Royal Palm Bassmasters held its monthly fishing tournament on Oct. 13 and 14 on Lake Kissimmee, outside the City of Lake Wales.
First place was awarded to the team of Randy King (boater), with 10 fish weighing 22 lbs., 10 oz. and partner Hoot Decker (co-angler), with two fish weighing 14 lbs., 7 oz. for a team weight of 37 lbs., 1 oz.
Second place was awarded to the team of Dennis Veclotch (boater), with three fish weighing 15 lbs., 4 oz. and partner Chris Schultz (co-angler), with four fish weighing 21 lbs., 3 oz., for a team weight of 36 lbs., 7 oz.
Third place was awarded to the team of Ed Singleton (boater), with five fish weighing 18 lbs., 6 oz. and partner Larry Payne (co-angler), with five fish weighing 16 lbs., 12 oz., for a team weight of 35 lbs., 2 oz.
The Big Fish on the first day of the tournament was caught by Dede Duff, with a bass weighing 9 lbs., 6 oz. Chris Schultz caught the second day’s Big Fish, which weighed in at 7 lbs., 11 oz.
Royal Palm Bassmasters meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Royal Palm Beach Recreation Center (100 Sweet Bay Lane). The club is now accepting applications for new boaters and non-boater members.
