Genbu-Kai Karate School in Wellington is offering free, ongoing community workshops in bullying awareness and prevention.
These workshops will be held Saturdays from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. at the karate school and are open to all school-age children (elementary, middle and high school), including their immediate family members. Parents, grandparents, guardians and adult family members are encouraged to participate in these workshops along with the children.
These workshops will address how to recognize, and potentially avoid, either verbal and/or physical bullying; how to deal with these situations, both verbally and physically, as they occur; and what to do after an altercation. There are no obligations or requirements for these workshops, only a willingness to learn and be taught.
