Master Travel & Cruises has opened a new location in the Wellington Marketplace.
Previously, the long-established travel agency was located in Royal Palm Beach. Its current location is a newly renovated storefront office perfect for both walk-ins and appointments.
Owners Michael and Lynda Reich have been in the industry since 1988. They have moved offices several times over the years to meet the demands of their clients in an ever-changing industry.
“Before our most recent move, we were in the Royal Plaza at Southern and Royal Palm Beach boulevards,” Lynda Reich said. “We were in three different locations there for the last 12 years.”
They also had a location in West Palm Beach. “That’s where we originally started,” Reich said.
Master Travel also has an office in Denver, Co., started by an agent who moved there. “She kept her clients and got new ones out there,” Reich said.
The move to Wellington was a much-needed change for the owners, who wanted to reach a broader clientele. “We just needed a change,” Reich said. “Many clients from Wellington were also finding us at our Royal Palm Beach office, but it was a hidden location.”
The agency offers a variety of vacation experiences, whether it’s customized trips to exotic locations or quick cruises to the Bahamas.
Master Travel has two divisions: corporate and agency.
“My husband does the corporate side, where most of the planning is done by phone and e-mail, and that is his specialty,” Reich said. “On our agency side, we have many agents who are specialized in certain areas and meet with clients at our office.”
Whether a client is looking for assistance in planning a destination wedding or a month-long tour of any country, Master Travel has 10 agents who are experienced in various areas.
“That’s what sets us apart from other agencies — our experience, knowledge and professionalism,” Reich said.
Travel has always been a passion for Reich. While living in New York, a close friend piqued her interest in travel planning when she asked Reich to assist her in planning a vacation. “She made it so exciting, and I said to my husband, ‘You know, that’s something I may want to do some day,’” Reich recalled.
When they moved to Florida, the Reichs decided to buy an existing travel agency. “It was called Master Travel at the time, and we built it up over the years and made it what it is today,” Reich said. “Years ago, we added ‘Cruises’ to the name because in the advent of the cruise agencies, we would have many people call and ask, ‘Do you sell cruises?’ so we decided to put it in our name.”
Master Travel does more than just sell vacation packages; it provides clients with security. “We give our clients guidelines and make sure that everything is in order, like whether their passports are not expired, or if they need a visa to enter a country,” Reich said.
