Caremore Family Practice is a family-owned and family-operated office in Royal Palm Beach that focuses on bringing patients that hometown family doctor feel.
The husband-and-wife team of Dr. Daniel and Dr. Geetanjali Dodson opened the practice in June 2010. The two met during their residency at Wellington Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Geetanjali Dodson received her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, while Dodson received his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In 2009, after completing their residency, the Dodsons got married and decided to stay in the western communities to open their own family practice. Caremore Family Practice would be their chance to bring personalized service and care to patients, something that they believed was missing from today’s medical industry.
“We worked for many big medical practices and have seen how these different companies operate,” Dodson said. “We didn’t really like the group structure and did not want to become a factory like many of these practices are.”
At Caremore Family Practice, doctors can treat all ages, from newborn babies to the elderly. Dr. Geetanjali Dodson focuses on women’s health concerns such as women’s exams including pelvic exams, breast cancer screening and gynecological issues. Dr. Daniel Dodson focuses on men’s heath and most of the pediatric care.
“We have generations who come here, from grandparents to grandchildren,” Dr. Geetanjali Dodson said. “We really like that family atmosphere.”
To make certain that clients receive the best possible care, Caremore Family Practice tailors their services to provide only basic medical care. “We don’t offer a lot of excess procedures,” Dr. Daniel Dodson said. “Most big offices offer cosmetic procedures and sell goods and products.”
Their approach is different from many other practices, Dr. Daniel Dodson noted. “They operate like a business, where our focus is on our medical care,” he said. “For us, that’s the biggest thing, because our motto from the beginning has been not to build an empire but a true medical practice designed for our patients’ health needs.”
Operating a family medical practice, the Dodsons believe that they understand what families need in quality medical care. “We are a family that treats families, and we treat our patients the way we would want our family to be treated,” he said.
The Dodsons build close relationships with their clients. “We know our patients on a first-name basis,” Dr. Geetanjali Dodson said. “And they really appreciate that because they feel more comfortable with us.”
If a patient needs to speak to a doctor after hours in case of an emergency, the doctors are reachable by cell phone. “We give them our personal numbers so that they know we are there for them when they really need us,” Dr. Geetanjali Dodson said.
Caremore Family Practice tries to make it as easy as possible for families who visit. All blood work, EKGs, full physical exams, basic vaccinations and flu shots are done in-house. “We try to manage everything in-house,” she said. “Occasionally, we have to refer a patient to a specialist, but we try our best to take care of everything ourselves for our patients’ sake.”
