The King’s Academy’s “Mane Event: Havana Nights” auction underwriting party took guests on an authentic journey to “old Havana” with Cuban-themed characters, traditional cuisine, and a tropical setting at the International Polo Club Palm Beach.
The elaborate event was hosted and underwritten by TKA parents Ashley and Joe Maguire and TKA grandparent Kathryn Maguire. In addition to being great fun, the event was a huge success financially, and Joe Maguire was proud to announce record sponsorship for the coming Mane Event totaling more than $170,000 to support the school and underwrite the auction. The Mane Event dinner and auction will take place on March 2 at PGA National Resort & Spa.
Guests were captivated by the ambiance created by the Rumberas in authentic costume and the customary Cuban gentleman engaged in a game of dominoes. Executive Chef William Sellner, along with sous chefs Donald Kruse and Ozzy Vasquez of the International Polo Club Palm Beach, created a delicious menu of Cuban cuisine to the delight of more than 100 Mane Event sponsors.
Joe Maguire spoke to the assembled guests and announced a record year of sponsorship with more than $170,000 already committed to the fundraising effort, which augments the King’s Academy annual fund. TKA Board Chair Dr. Clyde Meckstroth thanked the Maguires and all in attendance for their financial support of the annual fund and the mission of the King’s Academy.
The King’s Academy’s annual fund provides needed financial aid, faculty development, technology and facilities/program enhancements at the Christian school, which serves more than 1,100 students from K4 through 12th grade from throughout Palm Beach County.
Presenting sponsors of the 2013 Mane Event are Equity Trust Company (the Desich family), Insurance Office of America (Ray Dorsey, David Lodwick and Dan Ricker), Regal Paint Centers (Margarita and Steve Rasmussen), Revan Racing Inc.
