Wellington Elementary School held a successful science fair and book fair night on Feb. 27.
This year’s theme was “Reading Laboratory.” Students and parents viewed science projects, received “grab and go” science activities for home and shopped in the media center, which was transformed into a “Readioactive Laboratory.”
Families also enjoyed a fire and ice show. The evening was a great success with approximately 200 participants.
Wellington Elementary School students also recently made handmade Valentine’s Day cards, thanking local veterans for their service to our country. Cards were distributed to those veterans who reside or visit the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach. The Department of Veteran Affairs thanked Wellington Elementary School students for sending “Valentines for Veterans.” Mary C. Philips, chief of voluntary service with the department, said, “this social interaction certainly contributes to increasing the quality of life for our veterans and putting a smile on their face.”
