A teen finance workshop will be held Monday, April 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mounts Botanical Building (531 N. Military Trail). Hosted by the Cooperative Extension 4-H Program, the “On Your Own Finance Literacy” workshop is a hands-on class for youth ages 12 to 18.
The teens will learn survival skills for the future, including how to understand and manage finances in a simulated real-world environment.
Activities will include taking a personality test, discovering careers that match your personality, understanding salary, payroll and taxes, learning to write checks and developing a budget.
Participants do not need to be 4-H members to attend, and April 1 is not a school day. You must be able to read and use a calculator to participate. Register online at www.pbcgov.com/coextension/4h/news/index.htm by Friday, March 22.
