The Wellington Chamber of Commerce will host a three-part series on how to market a medical practice. Woody White, a partner in the Troika Group, will be the keynote speaker for the series.
The first seminar will take place Wednesday, April 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Wellington Commons (8461 Lake Worth Road).
Titled “Defining Your Practice,” it will cover the following:
• What do you do?
• What makes your practice different?
• Identifying your strengths and weaknesses.
• Who do you want to reach?
• How do you reach your target market?
White serves clients by leading and facilitating clients through the planning, coordination and execution phases of business expansion, development and decision making tailored to client-specific needs for growth and sustainability in today’s challenging business environment.
Specific to the healthcare industry, White currently leads clients in strategically planning for day-to-day operations and business issues, including reimbursement, managed care contracting, coding, billing, collections, marketing, strategic planning and alignment, analysis of financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, and staff development.
White has more than 30 years’ experience in the healthcare industry with a solid reputation for accelerated revenue growth, operational and strategic improvements, and bold visionary initiatives. His career primarily consists of working with healthcare companies and physician practices with profit and loss management for budgets up to $500 million.
White recently worked as the chief financial officer at Wellington Regional Medical Center for three and a half years. There he directed and managed the fiscal operations of the 158-bed acute-care facility, including a cancer center, Level III NICU, wound-care center, ambulatory surgery center, outpatient diagnostic center and intern/resident medical program. While there, White initiated quality review committees and case management that monitored and delivered a reduction in length of stay by 15 percent. He also assisted in reducing operating expenses by 6 percent through strategic cost reductions, successful vendor/professional services contract renegotiations, and implementation of best practices in purchasing procedures.
Prior to joining Wellington Regional, White was chief financial officer at DeTar Healthcare System in Victoria, Texas. There, in addition to the responsibilities as the CFO of the 225-bed acute-care facility and 110-bed women’s and children facility, he directed the employment of physicians, including contracts and practice conversion.
White also served as chief financial officer at Delta Regional Medical Center and executive director of Delta Physician Practices. As the executive director, he facilitated the design, development, and managed the fiscal operations of a 35-member employed physician practice, as well as the day-to-day management of 10 clinics.
