Sarah Swisher of Wellington was among those honored at Virginia Tech’s fall commencement ceremony held Dec. 21 in Cassell Coliseum. Swisher received a bachelor’s degree in history from the College of Liberal Arts & Human Sciences.
Approximately 1,314 degree candidates, along with their families and friends, attended the on-campus ceremony presided by Virginia Tech President Charles W. Steger. The keynote address was given by Annie Hesp, an instructor of Spanish in the College of Liberal Arts & Human Sciences.
Virginia Tech offers 215 undergraduate and graduate degree programs to more than 30,000 students and manages a research portfolio of $450 million.
