Yoga Classes In Wellington

The Wellington Community center is offering two new yoga classes for children and beginning adults.

“Kids Yoga,” for ages 7 to 10, will be held Wednesday evenings from March 13 to May 1. Classes run from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and are taught by instructor Fernanda Beccaglia. The eight-week session costs $80 for residents and $100 for non-residents. The classes focus on teaching children the physical and emotional benefits of yoga in their daily lives, as well as how to focus, relax and control their bodies by promoting strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness.

A second class, “Gentle Yoga” will focus on beginners. It is designed as an introduction and will begin with the basics and history of yoga. Classes will follow a natural progression as students become more adept at the practice of yoga. They will learn the basic classical Sivananda Yoga routine, which offers breathing exercises, warm-up, stretching, postures and relaxation. Classes will run Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. from March 13 to May 5. The eight-week session costs $96 for residents and $120 for nonresidents.
