All Yours Hair & Nail Salon is the newest beauty salon in The Acreage.
Whether you’re looking to get your hair done for a special occasion or your nails for a weekly manicure, the salon offers a variety of beauty needs for all purposes.
Open since March, it all started with a dream that All Yours Hair & Nail Salon owner Kelly Berry’s daughter, Blair, had. Blair, who passed away in her sleep from diabetes, was the driving force behind her mother opening a salon.
“I opened the salon in honor of her memory,” Berry said. “It will be two years in July since she passed.”
As a newly licensed aesthetician and massage therapist, Blair’s goal was to open her own salon along with her mother, who has 29 years of experience in the field. Berry received her license in cosmetology in 1984 and has also taught cosmetology.
Berry promised her daughter that they would open a salon once she gained some real-life experience working at other salons. “We were supposed to do this together,” Berry said. “But when she passed, I decided to go ahead and do it anyway.”
The ladybugs around the salon represent Blair’s presence and influence. “That was her thing,” Berry said. “She loved ladybugs and had them all over her home.”
The salon offers various hair care services, which include haircuts for adults and children, blow-dries, roller-sets and hair treatments. Other services include coloring — from corrective coloring to full highlights — specialty perms and hair straightening.
For clients who want to get their nails done while doing their hair, All Yours Hair & Nail Salon offers nail care services performed by experienced nail technicians.
Nail services include manicures, pedicures, gel polishes and polish changes. Waxing services include everything from eyebrows to full body waxing.
Berry recommends that clients call to determine what services are available, since they vary.
With the array of services available, All Yours Hair & Nail Salon is able to take clients for any occasion.
“Last Saturday was Seminole Ridge’s prom, so we did a few girls for that,” Berry said. “Since it’s prom season, we actually have even more booked for other proms.”
The salon will be adding additional services in the future. “Soon we will provide massages. We pretty much want to offer everything a spa would offer,” said Berry, who described the salon as “a clean environment, very simple but classy.”
All Yours Hair & Nail Salon employs four hairstylists, including Berry, three nail technicians and an aesthetician. They all enjoy serving their clients. “The most rewarding part of our profession is when our clients feel great after the service they have received,” Berry said.
Stylists educate their clients every time they are with them, especially if they are new.
“When trying out a new stylist, it takes three visits to the same stylist to achieve the best results,” Berry said. “The stylist needs to see how each client’s hair reacts to their chosen service. The same goes for skin and nails. We are all individually unique, and each client reacts differently to our techniques.”
Berry looks forward to having a successful business in the community where she has lived for many years.
“I’ve been in Loxahatchee since 1992, and I have two boys: Josh, who graduated from Seminole Ridge High School last year, and Zack, who graduates this year,” she said.
