Library Launches New Website

The Palm Beach County Library System launched a new web site Monday, April 15. The site features a new look and a new catalog search feature.

The clean, modern look and layout make it easier to read, explore and find what you are looking for. On every page, there is search box and links to popular information.

The home page includes what’s happening in the library system that day, with a real-time listing of events and articles about upcoming programs and new services. Visitors can search for adult, children and teen programs by date or location.

Visitors will also find the library’s new catalog search engine, which offers higher-accuracy results. The new catalog uses natural language searching — just enter your terms the way you do on Amazon or Google. Searching the catalog simultaneously searches the library’s catalog and other databases so guests don’t have to conduct multiple searches to access database content.

The web site also allows users to customize account information and create reading lists. From the catalog, guests can share favorite books, movies and more on Facebook and Twitter. For more information, visit www.pbclibrary.org.
