Vehicle Burglaries Reported In Olympia

APRIL 10 — A resident of Olympia called the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in Wellington last Wednesday morning to report a vehicle burglary. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 11 p.m. last Tuesday and 5:30 a.m. the following morning, someone entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a stereo and navigation system along with a purse. The stolen items were valued at approximately $1,000. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.

APRIL 12 — A resident of Olympia contacted the PBSO substation in Wellington last Friday morning to report a vehicle burglary. According to a PBSO report, the victim left his van unlocked overnight and sometime between 12:45 and 7 a.m., someone removed several of his possessions. According to the report, the perpetrator(s) stole an IBM laptop computer, several tools, a .38 Taurus revolver and several 9mm rounds, along with the victim’s wallet. The stolen items were valued at approximately $1,100. DNA evidence was taken at the scene, but there were no suspects at the time of the report.

APRIL 10 — Two West Palm Beach women were arrested last Wednesday evening on shoplifting charges after they were caught stealing from the Walmart Supercenter on Belvedere Road. According to a PBSO report, a deputy from the Royal Palm Beach substation was dispatched to the store after a loss prevention officer observed 36-year-old Meranda Hire and 18-year-old Samantha Bolin conceal several items from the beauty and health department in a backpack and purse. According to the report, Hire and Bolin then placed the backpack in a shopping cart and covered it with a blanket before attempting to exit the store. The loss prevention officer stopped them and recovered $409.98 in stolen merchandise. Both women were arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, where they were charged with retail theft.

APRIL 11 — A juvenile was arrested last Thursday afternoon in regard to a robbery. According to a PBSO report, the victim contacted the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach after being robbed of his iPhone during an altercation on Bobwhite Road. According to the report, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the juvenile approached the victim and punched him in the face. The victim was holding his iPhone and dropped it. According to the report, the juvenile then pushed the victim and picked up the iPhone, then fled in a vehicle being driven by an another male. According to the report, deputies stopped the vehicle on Okeechobee Blvd. near State Road 7 and were able to detain the juvenile. He was arrested and taken to the PBSO’s Juvenile Assessment Center.

APRIL 12 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Wellington was dispatched to a home in Hidden Pines of Wellington last Friday morning regarding a burglary. According to a PBSO report, the victim was at home at approximately 10:15 a.m. when she observed an unknown man open her rear sliding glass door. According to the report, the man ran when he realized the victim was home. The suspect is described as a white male around 25 years old wearing a blue shirt and khaki shorts. There was no further information available at the time of the report.

APRIL 13 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Wellington was dispatched to the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center last Saturday morning regarding a theft. According to a PBSO report, sometime between Saturday, March 23 and Wednesday, March 27, someone stole a bronze horse head trophy from the office. According to the report, the trophy was sitting on the receptionist’s desk. The stole item was valued at approximately $2,500. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.

APRIL 13 — A resident of Greenacres called the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation last Saturday evening to report lost property. According to a PBSO report, the complainant’s daughter was at Acreage Community Park from 5 to 6 p.m. when she lost her iPhone. The complainant’s daughter did not remember where she lost it, and believed it may have fallen out of her pocket. The iPhone was valued at approximately $600. There was no further information available at the time of the report.

APRIL 13 — A resident of Kings Way contacted the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach late last Saturday night regarding a vehicle theft. According to a PBSO report, the victim was sleeping at approximately 11:50 p.m. when he heard the engine of his 2006 Ford F-350 start up. The truck was driven out of the victim’s driveway, even though he was still in possession of his keys. According to the report, the vehicle had a flatbed trailer attached and a .9mm Beretta semi-automatic pistol in the glovebox that were also stolen. There was no further information available at the time of the report.

APRIL 14 — A deputy from the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation was dispatched to the intersection of A Road and Okeechobee Blvd. early last Sunday morning after a resident reported being robbed. According to the report, the victim was walking home at approximately 12:30 a.m. when a gold vehicle occupied by four white males stopped him. According to the report, the perpetrators got out of the vehicle and demanded the victim’s money. The victim had $300 cash on him, but had told the perpetrators he didn’t have any money. According to the report, one of the suspects struck the victim on the left side of the face with an unknown object and took the cash. There was no further information available at the time of the report.

APRIL 15 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach was dispatched to a home in La Mancha on Monday afternoon regarding a home burglary. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., someone forced open the kitchen window of the home and gained access. Once inside, the perpetrator(s) ransacked the home and stole a jewelry box containing several watches, necklaces and rings, an Xbox 360 game console and several games, and a fire safe with personal papers. The stolen items were valued at approximately $3,800. DNA evidence was taken at the scene, but there were no suspects at the time of the report.
