Army Private Tyler Smith has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, Smith learned drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness and first aid. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and weapons familiarity.
Smith is the son of Wayne Smith of Royal Palm Beach. He is a 2009 graduate of Royal Palm Beach High School.
