Palm Beach County DOSS Now Accepts Private Pay

The Palm Beach County Division of Senior Services (DOSS) now provides community-based services through a private-pay option for case management and adult day care.

Private pay will enable DOSS to serve more seniors, benefiting both seniors and their caregivers.

DOSS established private-pay options to serve seniors and their families by assisting with stabilizing a senior and family unit. The department will provide quality, affordable services to Palm Beach County residents and assist families who reside outside of the county who are seeking services for their loved ones who live within the county.

Adult day care serves individuals with mild to moderate dementia by providing a structured, comprehensive program with supervised care. In conjunction with an individual care plan, services offered include social and other therapeutic activities, meals and snacks, and some health monitoring. DOSS operates two adult day care centers — one in Lake Worth and one in Palm Beach Gardens.

Case managers provide professional home visits to evaluate and facilitate a plan of care for in-home services and review existing plans, assuring full coordination and linkage of services.

Case managers also assist with food-stamp applications and other needed services while assisting families to resolve the emotional, financial and physical demands of caring for an elder loved one.

DOSS has four case management offices — in West Palm Beach, Lake Worth, Palm Beach Gardens and Belle Glade.
