Polo Park Middle School will hold a three-day prep program for incoming sixth graders. The program will run from Tuesday, Aug. 6 through Thursday, Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The purpose of the program is to welcome incoming students, easing the students’ transition from elementary school to middle school. Students will have a chance to make some new friends while navigating hot topics such as organizational skills, bullying and mastering lock opening. Polo Park Principal Ann Clark believes that it will be a great way to welcome incoming Stallions, familiarize them with their new surroundings and start the school year off right.
Parents also face middle school with questions and concerns. Assistant Principal Yolanda Gregory invites parents to join her Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 9 a.m. for a short Polo Park Parent Prep session. At that time, parents will have the opportunity to ask questions about the school, the academic philosophy and programs.
