Shop And Share To Support Education Foundation Aug. 3

Join in a day of shopping, sharing and supporting the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County on Saturday, Aug. 3.

That is the day the Gardens Mall will donate 5 percent of the day’s logged sales to the foundation to support K-12 public education in Palm Beach County. In order for a donation to be credited to the foundation, shoppers must validate their receipts at the information desk on the lower level grand court of the mall (across from Macy’s).

“Partnering with the Gardens Mall, over the sales tax holiday weekend, is an exciting opportunity for the foundation. Parents, students and teachers will be able to do their back-to-school shopping, save on sales tax and support the Education Foundation. It’s a win-win,” said Mary Kay Murray, executive director of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County.

Legislation was passed to create a three-day sales tax holiday that begins at 12:01 a.m., Friday, Aug. 2 and ends at midnight Sunday, Aug. 4.

During this period, no Florida sales tax or local option tax will be collected on sales of clothing, footwear and certain accessories selling for $75 or less per item, on certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item, and on computers and certain related accessories selling for $750 or less per item when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.
