AUG. 4 — Two men were arrested last Sunday night on charges of burglary after they were caught attempting to enter several vehicles in the Estates at Wellington Green. According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report, a deputy from the Wellington substation was on patrol in the area at approximately 9:30 p.m. when he observed a man later identified as 30-year-old Aaron Bayliss of Palm Beach Gardens attempt to force open the front driver’s door lock on a Ford F-150. According to the report, Bayliss was unsuccessful and walked away from the vehicle, but then returned and attempted again to open it with an unknown tool. The deputy observed Bayliss enter a blue Dodge Ram being driven by a man later identified as 63-year-old Joseph Vitali of West Palm Beach. The vehicle then fled the scene. According to the report, a second deputy traveling east on Forest Hill Blvd. stopped the vehicle. Bayliss and Vitali were arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail where they were charged with burglary.
JULY 30 — A resident of the Willows II neighborhood called the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach last Tuesday afternoon regarding a home burglary. According to a PBSO report, the victim left for work at approximately 10 a.m. When he returned at approximately 2 p.m., he discovered someone had entered his home and stolen a 42-inch television from the living room. According to the report, the perpetrator(s) entered the home by forcing open the rear sliding-glass door, and then exited through the front door. The stolen television was valued at approximately $500. DNA evidence was taken at the scene, but there were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
AUG. 2 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach was dispatched to a gas station on State Road 7 early last Friday morning regarding a theft. According to a PBSO report, at approximately 5 a.m., an unknown white male entered the store and selected an 18-pack of Bud Light beer from the cooler. The suspect went toward the register, but the cashier told him it was too late to sell alcohol. According to the report, the suspect then ran out through the door, entered a white pickup truck and fled in an unknown direction. The stolen beer was valued at approximately $18.
AUG. 3 — A resident of F Road called the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation last Saturday to report a theft. According to a PBSO report, sometime between midnight last Thursday and 6 p.m. the following evening, someone removed the victim’s decal tag from her green 2006 Honda CRV, which was parked in her driveway. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
AUG. 5 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Wellington responded to a home in the Versailles community Monday morning regarding a theft. According to a PBSO report, sometime between Monday, July 29 and Wednesday, July 31, someone entered the property and removed the air conditioner unit and the swimming pool pump from the home. The theft was discovered during a home inspection. The stolen items were valued at approximately $1,300. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
AUG. 5 — A resident of Counterpoint Estates called the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach on Monday morning to report an attempted burglary. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 5 p.m. Sunday, July 28 and 11 a.m. Monday, someone attempted to enter the victim’s home through the rear sliding glass door. The victim believes his dogs dissuaded the perpetrator(s) from entering the home. According to the report, the deputy observed several pry marks on the rear sliding glass door that appeared to have been made with a flat-headed instrument. The damage was estimated at approximately $100. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
AUG. 5 — A resident of Cordoba Circle in La Mancha contacted the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach on Monday afternoon to report a case of vandalism. According to a PBSO report, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the victim observed a blue four-door SUV driven by an unknown female purposely hit her mailbox. According to the report, the victim said the vehicle was driving eastbound on Cordoba Circle, hit the victim’s mailbox and then made a u-turn and fled the area. The victim reported that she hasn’t had problems with anyone, but believes the suspect mistook her home for someone else’s. The damage was estimated at approximately $150. There was no further information available at the time of the report.
AUG. 5 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Wellington was dispatched Monday afternoon to a home on Folkstone Circle regarding a residential burglary. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., someone used an unknown object to smash the victim’s bedroom window. The victim did not believe entry was made to the home. According to the report, the blinds appeared to be pushed in by the perpetrator(s), who might have fled when the home’s alarm system went off. The damage was estimated at approximately $150. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
AUG. 5 — A deputy from the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation was called Monday night to a home on 67th Court North regarding a fire. According to a PBSO report, at approximately 11 p.m., the resident called Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue after a fire broke out in the garage. According to the report, the fire was caused by the dryer, which was running. The resident was able to get his grandmother and sister out of the home safely, and PBCFR rescued a dog inside the home.
AUG. 6 — A resident of the Greenview Cove community called the PBSO substation in Wellington on Tuesday morning to report a home burglary. According to a PBSO report, the victim left his garage door open and sometime between 7:30 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. the following morning, someone removed three all-terrain vehicles from the garage. According to the report, two kids ATVs were recovered near a neighbor’s home. The third ATV is described as a red Honda. The stolen ATVs were valued at approximately $8,500. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
