Author and Western Pines Middle School teacher Deb Burggraaf’s book Flutternutter is a finalist in the 2013 Florida Authors and Publishers Association (FAPA) President’s Awards, to be held Saturday, Sept. 21 in Daytona. Flutternutter has been recognized in two categories: Children’s Picture Books and Cover Design.
Burggraaf’s seventh book, Flutternutter is an informative story about the Florida state butterfly, the zebra longwing, and was written for children ages 5 to 12. Flutternutter was illustrated by Ronaldo Perez, with eloquent use of color and movement to bring the zebra longwing to life.
