Palm Beach County’s web site, www.pbcgov.com, has claimed high honors in the Web Marketing Association’s annual Web Awards international competition.
Designed and maintained by Palm Beach County Public Affairs and Information Systems Services, www.pbcgov.com won the award for outstanding web site in the government category, scoring well above the industry average.
Web entries were evaluated on their design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use. For each entry, three independent judges were given only a web address and password. They did not know who submitted the entry or the category. Each judge assumed the role of a typical user with no particular computer skills or expertise.
Palm Beach County’s site received no lower than 8.5 out of 10 in each category, and particularly high marks for design, 9.0, and interactivity, 9.5. The site is continually being updated with new technology and design elements to keep pace with ever-expanding web-technology standards.
The WMA is comprised of Internet marketing, online advertising, public relations and design professionals who share an interest in improving the quality of online advertising, marketing and web site promotion. Now in its 17th year, the Web Awards is the premier annual competition identifying the best sites in 96 industries.
