The children at Golden Grove Elementary School had a fun, healthy day of activities. The day started with a walk-athon as a fundraiser for the school, followed by planting some vegetable seeds in recycled materials. Older children transplanted previously grown seeds from smaller containers into bigger ones. Children are very excited about the gardening and growing their own vegetables, said kindergarten teacher Elouise Wrisper. Expanding the Green Initiative, the school will also begin a garden club and an environmental club this month.
