Palm Beach County will be conducting a series of prescribed burns at Okeeheelee Park in the natural areas located north and south of Forest Hill Blvd.
The prescribed burns in the North Natural Area will take place between Nov. 11, 2013 and May 30, 2014.
The prescribed burns in the South Natural Area will take place between Nov. 18, 2013 and Oct. 31, 2014.
The purpose of the burns is to reduce dead and dense vegetation and to improve native habitat. Officials from the Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation Department will be assisted by the Division of Forestry and Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue. Each prescribed burn will be completed in one day.
