Free Softball Camp Set For Jan 4. At Okeeheelee Park

The Palm Beach Pride will be opening their fields at Okeeheelee Park for a free softball camp on Saturday, Jan. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring Ron Mobilia, an area girls softball coach who has successfully led teams to be Florida state champions for the last two years. Mobilia, who has coached for the Wellington Wild Travel Softball program in the past, took his knowledge of the game to a team he formed with the Palm Beach Pride. His Palm Beach Pride “Xtreme” 12 & Under team just completed their inaugural fall season and is ranked second in Florida.

“I am excited to announce an event that will promote the game of softball and provide expert softball skills training for our area’s young ladies,” Mobilia said. “We have some outstanding people and organizations volunteering their time and resources for this event, including University of Florida Hall of Fame pitcher Jenny Gladding and Athlete’s Advantage, a local indoor personal training facility, among numerous others. We are still hard at work obtaining commitments from other expert coaches and local sports celebrities. This will certainly be a day of fun, exercise and good times for everyone involved.”

This winter and spring, Palm Beach Pride will also have teams that compete in younger age divisions, as well as Mobilia’s 12 & Under “Xtreme” team. All of the teams have openings available for talented players, and the coaches will be onsite on Jan. 4 to provide more information about Palm Beach Pride for those who have an interest in taking their game to the next level.

Official tryouts for this season’s Palm Beach Pride teams will be held on Jan. 5 and Jan. 12, For more info., visit www.mobiliacpa.com/pridecamp or e-mail wellingtonsoftball@outlook.com. Find the team on Facebook at www.facebook.com/pbpridextreme.
