NOV. 22 — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help identifying a suspicious man who approached several young children on their way to school.
According to a PBSO report, last Friday, Nov. 22, at approximately 7:30 a.m., four children were walking near the intersection of Greenview Shores Blvd. and Carlton Street in Wellington when they were approached by an unknown white male. The children said the suspect asked them if they wanted candy. According to the report, the children fled from the man, ran to school and reported the incident.
According to the report, the suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’11” with brown and black salt-and-pepper hair. The children said the man was unshaven and was wearing either blue jeans and a plaid or black shirt, or beige pants and a black shirt.
According to the report, PBSO deputies searched the area and spoke with school crossing guards, but did not locate the man. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have knowledge of the suspect is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 458-TIPS.
