Seminole Ridge Basketball Boys Fall To Gardens 74-53

BY GENE NARDI

The Seminole Ridge High School boys varsity basketball team hosted Palm Beach Gardens High School on Friday, Dec. 20 and lost 74-53.

The Hawks (0-9) looked to get their first win of the season but fell short. Seminole Ridge played well defensively, limiting the Gators on offense early.

The Hawks had difficulty maintaining consistency, while Palm Beach Gardens took advantage, slowly increasing the lead.

Going into the fourth quarter, the Gators mounted a 17-point lead 56-39. The Hawks would battle back, but fell too far behind and could not catch up.

Not winning the rebounds under the net late in the game cost the Hawks. The Gators finished with a 3-pointer at the final buzzer to take the win.

Nickolas Ryan put up 16 points for the Hawks, while Miguel Dominguez tallied 12 points.

Seminole Ridge will return to the court Friday, Dec. 27 when the team travels to Spanish River High School in search of an elusive win.
