Four Frontier Elementary School students swept first through fourth place in the 2014 Conservation Poster Contest, sponsored by the Palm Beach Soil & Water Conservation District and the South Florida Fair.
Vanessa Ramirez and Prycilla Oscar, both from Molly Harding’s fifth-grade science class, placed first and second respectively.
From Lisa Caprio’s fifth-grade science class, Benjamin McGaw and Falyn Bell earned third and fourth place.
More than 100 students from Palm Beach County competed in the contest this year. Each of the four winners will receive free admission into the South Florida Fair, ribbons and cash vouchers to be used at the fair. The four posters will also be on display at the Sundy Feed Store in the Agriplex area of the fair.
Poster contest winner Vanessa Ramirez will now compete in the state poster contest, which is held in August.
State winners compete at the national level through the National Association of Conservation Districts National Poster Contest.
