WLMS Academic Games Win At Tourney

Wellington Landings Middle School Academic Games students competed in the National Tournament of Events in Knoxville, Tenn. from April 25 to 28. Nicholas Caravello, an eighth grader, competed in one team award and placed first in World Events. Jonah Smith, a seventh grader, competed in two team awards and placed first in World Events and second in Propaganda. Madeline Nahom, a sixth grader, competed in the team award for World Events and placed third. Nahom also received a perfect score individually in the LinguiSHTIK competition. Three teachers, Mrs. Walsh, Mr. Cartegena and Mr. Phibbs, coached, judged and acted as managers and chaperones during the trip. WLMS Academic Games looks forward to forming another competitive group beginning as soon as this summer for next year’s competition.
