Thomas Viale of Lake Worth, son of Omar Nicki Viale, was one of more than 300 students who graduated from Saint Vincent College during the spring commencement ceremony held Saturday, May 10. He received a bachelor’s of science degree in psychology and a bachelor’s of arts degree in criminology, law and society. He was a member of the football team and the Student Athletic Advisory Counsel.
Dr. Patrick D. Gallagher, a physicist and former U.S. Department of Commerce official who will become the 18th chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh on Aug. 1, was the principal speaker and received an honorary degree. Charles J. Queenan Jr., a corporate lawyer with a distinguished career, also received an honorary degree.
Viale was a 2010 graduate of Palm Beach Central High School and is a member of Florida Gardens Baptist Church in Lake Worth. He plans to join the Navy Reserves and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
