The sixth annual TKA Lion Run 5K and Kids’ Run was a huge success with more than 250 runners participating, in ages ranging from 4 through 76.
The Kids’ Run included a 1-lap route around the track where the kids raced against the TKA lion mascot. The 5K race is a challenging course that traverses through TKA’s 60-acre campus. The multi-surface, off-road course includes paved and gravel roads, trails through the woods, and flat grass with a start and finish on the track.
Medals were presented to first, second and third place winners for male and female overall, first place male and female masters, and first place male and female in each age division. Johnny Marting (18:08) and Annie Vallace (21:46) took first place overall. TKA students also performed well in the race. Eighth grader John Priesch (22:30), ninth grader Kelly Ahkee (23:50) and senior Payton Campbell (22:43) took first place in their respective divisions. The Kids’ Fun Run was won by TKA fifth grader Mia Rodriguez.
The King’s Academy is a nationally recognized private Christian school.
