TKA Earns National Blue Ribbon Honor

The King’s Academy’s elementary school was designated as a National Blue Ribbon School recently by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. The school was recognized as an “Exemplary High Performing School” as measured by performance on assessments referenced against national norms.

TKA is one of only 50 private schools nominated for the honor by the Council for American Private Education, and one of 239 elementary schools honored.

Elementary school students gathered in the cafeteria to celebrate the announcement with Principal Heath Nivens and the entire elementary faculty and staff.

“Being named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence is an incredible honor. It validates and confirms our dedication to excellence here at the King’s Academy,” Nivens said. “Our continuous exemplary performance as an elementary school would not be possible without the dedication of such a professional group of faculty members, a committed contingency of parents and diligent students. We are honored to be considered one of the top 239 elementary schools and top 50 private schools nationwide.”
