On Friday, Dec. 19, the Knights of Columbus Peter A. Benvenuti Council 8419 from St. Rita Catholic Church in Wellington purchased 72 bicycles from Walmart and delivered them to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pahokee. This is the fifth year that the group has purchased bikes for impoverished children in the Glades. The project was funded by 200 Knights of Columbus members reaching into their own pockets.
