School’s out and many church and community choirs are on hiatus. Where can a singer keep in shape over the summer and blend their voice in harmony with others who enjoy singing year round? The Palmer Singers at Wellington invites local singers on Monday evenings at 7 p.m., starting June 8.
The group will pursue Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, Bach’s Christ Lay in the Bonds of Death, spiritual arrangements by Parker and Shaw, a madrigal and more. A concert is planned for the late summer. There is no fee to audition.
The Palmer Singers were first organized in the 1960s and influenced the start of a number of musical endeavors in Palm Beach County. Director Edward Palmer holds a degree from the American Conservatory of Music. The group meets at St. David’s-in-the-Pines Episcopal Church in Wellington, located at the northwest corner of Forest Hill Blvd. and Wellington Trace.
