On Sunday, March 8, Wellington Elementary School participated in the 2015 Palm Beach Walk Now for Autism Speaks. The walk was held in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach along Flagler Drive.
Autism Speaks is the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization. The organization is committed to funding for research into the causes, preventions, treatments and finding a cure for autism. It also tries to increase awareness of autism spectrum disorders and has become a leading advocate for the needs of individuals and their families affected by autism. Since 2005, Autism Speaks has raised more than $500 million with the majority of it going to science and medical research.
Every year, Walk Now for Autism Speaks events are held in more than 100 cities in the United States. Wellington Elementary School students, staff and families were proud to be a part of this great cause.
