The Cardinal Newman High School family was out in full force to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with help from the Crusaders girls volleyball team. The players put together their Dig Pink event on Oct. 1.
A portion of the proceeds from gate admission, T-shirt sales, concessions and bake sales were donated to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation.
A total of $1,000 was raised from the event to help support the foundation’s continued efforts to end breast cancer through advocacy, education and research.
Sharon Yudewitz, administrative director of the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, was at Cardinal Newman to accept the volleyball team’s donation.
The event was a great way to make a difference and a rewarding experience for the team.
