Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control will host its second annual “Hot Dogs, Cool Cats” pet adoption event and family fun day on Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The goal of the event is to bring awareness to the county shelter and find loving homes for as many animals as possible. There are currently over 200 animals in need of homes.
Festivities will include food trucks, live music, shelter tours, a paw print painting station for pets courtesy of Barkey Pines Animal Sanctuary, a shelter playgroup featuring adoptable dogs, an agility course for pets and people, face painting and special adoption incentives.
Adopters will be able to name their own adoption fee for their new pet. All adoptions will include spaying or neutering of the animal, vaccinations, a license tag and microchip, a follow-up visit with a local veterinarian, free heartworm prevention and more. Staff and volunteers will be on site to help potential adopters find their perfect match.
